Concentration
The central idea of my concentration is to portray my high school senior friends for more than what they have to be, hardworking students. I want to show how there is more to a high school student than simply grades and classes. Everyone, in their high school career, has so many different possibilities for their futures, and as humans, we take a lot of changing and deciding until we finally reach our final identities. I want to capture the essence of these high school students and their personalities from when they were in high school, so that when we look back, we can see how much or how little has changed. This is my personal memory book of my friends and a way for me to remember them as they were when I knew them well because once they go off to college, so much can change. This is a way to preserve a small part of their journeys.
The pieces in my concentration demonstrate the exploration of my idea by showing the personality of a new person in each concentration. By using various backgrounds and patterns, I am showing the inner personality of these people to show what their interests, or desires, were as high school seniors. Each piece shows a different person and a part of their huge world. Each person has a slightly different facial position, and lighting, to show how everyone is different, and even subtle variations can distinguish individuals from one another.
